The Press and Communication team in the British Embassy is made up of 6 locally employed staff who work under the supervision of a British diplomat.
The aim of the Press and Communication Office is to inform and involve the Italian public about British diplomatic priorities. To that end it communicates the major lines of British government policy and the key objectives of its foreign policy, through a wide range of channels.
The office organises events and seminars, looks after relations with the public, the Italian and international press, and monitors the Italian media daily.
In addition it offers an internal information service for the embassy and consulates located throughout Italy and administers the embassy website (www.britain.it), where news on the main areas of British diplomatic interest in Italy is regularly updated in English and Italian.
